Week beginning 7 September |
WALT (what we are learning today)We are learning how to
Defend and the Around the World |
DescriptionWarm up
Harry Potter style. Video 1 The prime objective in Soccer is to score goals. The defenses job is to prevent that from happening and to set up play for midfielders and forwards to score. But how do we defend. There are a lot of things to consider when defending. Know your opponents dominant foot. Position your own body to push the attacker into the part of the field you want them in. Choose the right time to tackle, when they are off balance. watch the ball not the player. Block the attackers path if they pass you. Defenders need to work as a team to stop attacks so communication is super important. Video 3 Around the World. if you are still a fair way off completing around the world at least try to flick the ball up from a foot stall and do a couple juggles with feet and knees |
EquipmentEquipment is required.
A soccer ball or a similar sized rubber ball. Anything around the same size will do even a plastic ball from the $2 shop is fine. |
